Explore Bruny Island Our Way

Our tours are meticulously crafted by Craig Parsey, our Managing Director, who has a deep and personal connection to Bruny Island. Having lived at some of Tasmania’s most remote lighthouses, including the iconic Cape Bruny Lighthouse Station, with his family in the 1970s, this unique upbringing has given Craig an unmatched perspective and knowledge of Bruny Island.

Craig schooled, lived, and worked on Bruny Island for many years, gaining an unparalleled understanding of its beauty, wildlife, and history. Now, after many years, he has developed one of Bruny Island’s most successful bus tour operations, which has been thriving for over 12 years.

Why is Bruny Island a key destination in Tasmania?

Bruny Island is renowned for its untouched natural beauty, rich history and exceptional local produce. It offers a unique blend of stunning natural landscapes from the Mavista Rainforest to the rugged cliff faces surrounding Cape Bruny Lighthouse. Beyond its scenery, Bruny Island is a foodie’s paradise with an abundance of incredible local produce. Bruny Island has become a ‘must-visit’ destination for those staying in Southern Tasmania and we can’t wait to share the best of the island with you!

Our Foods, Sightseeing and Lighthouse Bruny Island day tour from Hobart includes all aspects of what makes Bruny Island so unique. Throughout the day you’ll see why Bruny Island is a foodie’s paradise with plenty of tastings, morning tea and lunch.

We are proud to be the only tour company with access to Cape Bruny Lighthouse, offering our guests a unique insight into Bruny Island’s maritime history. Your guide will stop at many beautiful locations throughout the day, including Two Tree Point and The Neck Lookout.

Can I bring my suitcase or a large bag?

Unfortunately, we do not have space on board for large bags or suitcases. We recommend leaving this at your hotel or a luggage storage facility.

Do you cater for dietary requirements/food allergies?

Yes! At Bruny Island Safaris, we take food safety very seriously. Please press ‘yes’ to dietary requirements/allergies when making a booking and let us know in the notes of your requirements/allergies. Hotel Bruny’s menu covers all dietary requirements, including gluten-free and vegan options.

How much walking is involved?

We try to keep walking to a minimum to ensure our tour is accessible to as many people as possible. When we visit The Neck Lookout, there are over 200 stairs to reach the top lookout. However, there is the option to walk the flat boardwalk to the stunning beach, or there is a lookout halfway up the stairs that offers fantastic views of the neck on Bruny Island and beyond. Once at Cape Bruny Lighthouse, there is a short uphill walk to reach the lighthouse and then 72 stairs in the Lighthouse itself. With two of the best views on Bruny Island, we promise the view from The Neck Lookout and the Cape Bruny Lighthouse balcony are worth the climb!

If you have any concerns about our tour’s accessibility, please call or email us and we can provide further information.
